Dermatitis
Seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp
is a problem for many adults. Seborrheic dermatitis hair loss can also
effect both men and women.
Seborrheic
dermatitis hair loss can be stopped if the dermatitis symptoms are
eliminated It is not a dangerous condition. It is however
uncomfortable and bothersome at the least. Sometimes, it may even be painful.
Some of the main symptoms are flaky scalp,
thick
crusty scales that may be white or yellowish in color, greasy oily
patches, and sore red skin. It most often occurs between the ages of
thirty and sixty. Seborrheic dermatitis is also common in infants, but is know as cradle
cap. Unlike the adult version, cradle cap is not itchy and it will generally go
away on its own in a few months. For adults seborrheic dermatitis is an
extremely itchy condition. Scratching will make the problem worse and might
cause infection. It may also spread to other location such as the eyebrows,
ears, and creases on face or neck.
There are many products available that are
meant to deal with seborrheic dermatitis at home, but most of these products are
full of chemicals. Chemical will dry the scalp and create an imbalance. This
imbalance leads to an unhealthy scalp that will be vulnerable. Be sure to read
ingredients labels. Even if products are labeled organic, they might contain up
to 30% non organic ingredients. Look for natural ingredients that work to
balance the scalp. Zinc actually regulates the sebum gland, which produces oil
on the scalp, as well as deep cleans. Sage and thyme are natural detoxifiers.
Jojoba oil and emu oil both are moisture rich for the scalp and hair.
