April 16th, 2012

For many people that suffer from seborrheic dermatitis they find that they often experience hair loss. The hair loss from seborrhea comes from several different reasons. The very first reason is that the inflammation that is caused inside the hair follicle by the seborrheic dermatitis. This inflammation squeezes or swells the hair follicle so that the hair can not grow properly. The result is an impact in nutrition that feeds the hair. There are many micro capillaries that feed the hair root. The nutrition comes through the blood which travels through the very small capillaries. With seborrheic dermatitis these capillaries are impacted against because of the swelling inside the hair follicle.

How To Help Hair Loss From Seborrheic Dematitis  &  Seborrhea Thining Hair

Remember that seborrheic dermatitis is a condition where scalp oils play a huge part in the condition. Many doctors believe that the excess oil is cause of the problem. While other doctors believe that the excess oils are the result of a self defense mechanism of the scalp where the scalp in a defense mode produces excess scalp oils to defend itself against bacteria and fungus. The same is believed to be true with scalp acne. Hair loss from sebrrheic dermatitis can be helped. Seborrheic Dermatitis of The Scalp Can Be Helped

Seborrheic dermatitis is a prevelant scalp condition.  Sometimes it is also called seborrheic eczema.  It is a chronic condition that is often very itchy and uncomfortable.

There are several symptoms of seborrheic dermatitis.  Some of the usual ones are flaky scalp, yellowish or white scales, greasy and oily spots.  Many people find it difficult to avoid the urge to scratch.  Scratching causes the skin to become inflamed and red.  In severe cases some hair loss may be attributed to seborrheic dermatitis.

Seborrheic dermatitis affects infants as well.  This is known as cradle cap.  Cradle cap does seem to itch or bother infants, but most parents are bothered by the way it looks.  Cradle cap will usually disappear in a few months with or without treatment.

In adults seborrheic dermatitis most often occurs between the ages of thirty and sixty.  It often starts on the scalp but then spreads to other areas such as the eyebrows and behind the ears.

Treatment of seborrheic dermatitis usually needs to be ongoing because it is a chronic condition.  If treated it may go away briefly only to come right back.  There are a lot of products sold that are suppose to treat seborrheic dermatitis, but many of these contain chemicals that are not actually good for the scalp.  Scalp health depends on a delicate balance of oil.  Chemical products dry the scalp and create imbalance.  There are natural ingredients available that will work much better to balance the scalp and keep scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis under control.  Zinc pcac is deep cleans the scalp while also creating a proper oil balance.  Thyme and sage are also good natural ingredients.  They work by detoxify the scalp and removing impurities.
